However, you never know what's going to turn up, so fingers crossed.

Incidentally, a brief audio clip of the first episode was recently recovered from an off-air audio recording of an advert for the start of the series. Hearing the dialogue played out certainly adds a different dimension to the experience, but I can't help but think it would still fall down in terms of quality.Ben Rickettshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01749284122022718064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4901944301852919470.post-20135771957473939872018-12-30T13:44:08.535+00:002018-12-30T13:44:08.535+00:00Good to see a reviewer went to the trouble of acce...Good to see a reviewer went to the trouble of accessing the original scripts to give an objective opinion of an intriguing sitcom that will probably never see the light of day again. :) Nice work! ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4901944301852919470.post-35469278813954193592018-09-02T08:28:28.009+01:002018-09-02T08:28:28.009+01:00It's obvious that this was originally consider...It's obvious that this was originally considered as a single sketch, as everything seems to hinge on the title. Audiences of 1969 would have understood it to be a play on the phrase 'Gnomes of Zurich', a popular enemy of the Labour party from the post-war era to the 70s. That hints at a more satirical bite in Jimmy Perry's jaw, only taken in the final episode.kisbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16809685647885503821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4901944301852919470.post-37373547889911450562018-09-01T13:49:24.354+01:002018-09-01T13:49:24.354+01:00Jimmy Perry had plenty of off days. He was clearly at his best when writing with a partner, and if that partner was David Croft then so much the better.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14622323170920131439noreply@blogger.com
